Long Range Plan

Development and adoption of the Kingsport 2030 Transportation Plan is accomplished within the rules, regulations, and directives of the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and the Tennessee and Virginia Department of Transportation.

The goals and objectives of the 2030 Kingsport MPO Area Long Range Transportation Plan are devised in order to promote a continuing, comprehensive, and cooperative (3-C’s) transportation planning process throughout the Kingsport MPO area and are adopted by the MPO’s Executive Board. 


Goal # 1: Promote the Safe and Secure Flow of traffic on the multimodal transportation network within the Kingsport MPO Area
Goal # 2: Reduce Congestion
Goal # 3: Improve Access within and to the Kingsport MPO Area
Goal # 4: Develop Transportation Network that Enhances Economic Growth
